Great places. According to its description, the book is part one of a trilogy. The modern lampworker uses a flame of oxygen and propane or natural gas. These stock materials took form as laboratory glasswarebeads, and durable scientific "specimens"—miniature glass sculpture. This is a 'must-read' book.

The writing is powerful, lyrical and funny. How else are we as readers supposed to either empathise or identify with the protagonists? The gratuitous sex scenes and the focus on those relationships are unnecessary. No day is the same.
